Master of Science (M.Sc.) Disaster Management
Objective : The two years M.Sc. Degree in Disaster Management being conducted by The Global Open University, Nagaland has been designed for meeting the demand of the growing needs of experts in the fields of Disaster Mitigation, Hydrological, Coastal, Marine, Atmospheric, Geological, Technical, Forests, Wind and Water Driven Disasters for mitigating the effects of earthquakes, floods, droughts, cyclonic storms, landslides, avalanches etc.
Eligibility : Graduates of any discipline Duration : 4 Semesters
Award : Master of Science (M.Sc.) with specialisation in Disaster Management shall be awarded to all the successful candidates by The Global Open University, Nagaland.
Careers in Disaster Management
Disaster Management is a national as well as international responsibility. If disaster education system is not introduced immediately in all schools and colleges in the country, it will almost be impossible to ensure disaster preparedness viewing the disastrous scenario related to floods, earthquakes, dambursts, avalanches, land slides, tornadoes, tsunamis, el-ninos, famines, desertification, droughts, forest fires besides man made disasters like mining and other related technological disasters, wars, hazardous and nuclear threats to disasters in different countries of the world.

Accordingly, the Application Form duly filled-in along with four stamp size photographs, copies of certificates and mark sheets and a Bank Draft for the full fee i.e. Rs. 28,150/- in the name of “The Global Open University, Nagaland” payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Nagaland” payable at Dimapur must reach the Admissions Officer, The Global Open University, Sodzulhou Village, P.O. – ARTC, NH-39, Dimapur – 797115 Nagaland by registered / speed post only.
Examination Fee : A fee of Rs. 300/- per paper is to be paid before appearing in the Annual Examinations to be held at Dimapur, Nagaland.
All students are required to submit a dissertation at the end of the final semester.
Assignments : All admitted participants must submit subject wise assignments based on the Mini Project Reports to be prepared by them on a topic related to each of the subjects.
